Seattle Seido Karate will be celebrating Kagami Biraki on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Dale Turner YMCA in Shorline. The annual workout will begin at 8:40 AM, and will be followed by a potluck brunch in one of the conference rooms at the Y. Students may attend one or both of these events. Seattle Seido Karate is holding promotions this week and next. The first round was children and adults at Dale Turner Family Y, Wednesday, September 28th. We will be posting the names of those candidates as soon as their promotions are finalized. A group of Junior students promoted today at Northshore Family Y, September 30th, and they are pictured in the group photograph above. Promotions will be held during the next two weeks, at the following times and for the following age groups:

Adults from all locations: Promotion will be held Wednesday September 28, from 7 – 8 PM at Dale Turner Family Y. A fight test will take place for advanced green belts and above following the regular class. The location and address of Dale Turner Family Y can be found here.

Children from Dale Turner: Promotion will be held Wednesday September 28, from 5:30 – 7 PM at Dale Turner Family Y.

Children Age 6 – 8 years from Northshore Family Y: Promotion will be held Friday September 30,  at 4 – 4:45 PM at Northshore Family Y.

Seattle Seido Karate (The Seattle Branch of the World Seido Karate Organization) will present a karate demonstration at the Annual Aki Matsuri, presented by Eastside Nihon Matsuri Association, held at Bellevue College’s main campus on the weekend of September 9, 2011. Seattle Seido Karate student Lam Son Nguyen captured this excellent 3 board mawashi geri break by Senpai Mike Delilla. Student Lam Phu Nguyen shot the other accompanying video, of Senpai Becca executing a three board yoko geri break. We were rehearsing breaks for the upcoming Seido demo at Aki Matsuri (Fall Festival) at Bellevue Community College on the weekend of September 9-11. Our demo will be at 4:30PM, Saturday, September 10th.
